How do you encourage a creative, artistic spirit in your baby, toddler or young child?

Interesting question! I have a "spirited" four year old boy who keeps me on the GO, GO, GO! Now, with his younger sister (4 months) we have to think of ways to be creative with him along with her! Some things we do is have him help cook, including mixing and cutting (with a butter knife, of course). We also paint and play with home made playdoh. We hang his artworks through out the house- our own little gallery of his works! We also dance and move to different kinds of music. He loves to sing and hum theme songs (star wars, indiana jones and pirates of the Caribbean). We take walks and talk about the different things he sees. He loves to play with his toys and be dramatic with his action figures. We love play dates with friends and time at the park too!
